Popular comedian Seyi Law has reacted to a viral video showing Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, serving food at an event in Imo State.
The clip, which made the rounds online, captured Obi carrying trays, engaging warmly with guests, and handing out meals.
Sharing the footage on his X page, Seyi Law threw a sarcastic jab at the former Anambra governor, suggesting the act wasn’t sincere.
“This is the height of humility. Na today I confirm sey Peter Obi is really humble,” he wrote.
The post triggered swift backlash from Obi’s supporters who flooded the comment section.
One user, @Nellycentz, replied: “Imagine what this idiot will say when Jesus was washing the feet of his disciples then. Or when the Pope does the same to his subjects.”

Another, @Ai_Abaelu, defended Obi’s consistency: “PO as a serving governor invited student leaders from every town, took them on a project tour, and served them food himself. This isn’t the first or second time.”
@Uptownoflagos questioned the intent: “Peter Obi served food in Imo State to get Imo State votes. Imo State??”
@DAMIADENUGA simply posted the video with the caption: “Here is a video of Peter Obi serving guests at a party in Imo State.”
Despite the jabs and praise, the video has reignited debate around public gestures and their meaning in Nigerian politics.
