An Ikorodu Coroner’s Court has recommended that auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe face criminal prosecution over her role in the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
Delivering the court’s verdict on Friday, Magistrate C.A. Shotobi ruled that while no foul play or homicide was established in the singer’s death, the nurse’s actions constituted gross negligence and unlawful medical conduct.
According to the court, Ogedengbe administered an injection to Mohbad without any doctor’s prescription — an act deemed both “professionally negligent” and outside the bounds of lawful medical practice.
“Pursuant to Section 29 of the Coroner Laws of Lagos State, this court recommends that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution initiate criminal proceedings against Felicia Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and gross negligence,” Magistrate Shotobi stated.
The court emphasized that Ogedengbe, who was unlicensed, had no legal or professional grounds to treat the late artist.

His sudden passing sparked widespread outrage, protests, and calls for justice from fans and fellow musicians.
While conspiracy theories swirled online, the coroner’s inquest has now brought legal clarity, shifting the spotlight toward accountability in Nigeria’s unregulated health sector.
The court’s recommendation opens the door for formal charges and could signal a significant legal precedent on the prosecution of unlicensed healthcare providers in Nigeria.
