Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has officially begun his legal career, making his first courtroom appearance as a lawyer on Friday, July 18.
Melaye, dressed in full wig and gown, appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite at Court 8 of the Federal High Court in Abuja. This marked his professional debut since being called to the Nigerian Bar earlier this month.
“Senator Dino Melaye at the Federal High Court Abuja today. Appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of Court 8,” Melaye wrote in a post shared on his verified Facebook page on Friday.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain was among over 5,000 new lawyers called to the Bar in Abuja in early July after completing his law degree at Baze University.
Melaye, who previously served in the House of Representatives and later as Senator representing Kogi West in the 8th Assembly, now begins a new chapter in legal practice.
His journey into law adds to a colourful public life that has included activism, reality TV appearances, and high-profile political roles.
