The Nigeria Police Force has announced major breakthroughs in its ongoing fight against violent crime, following a series of coordinated operations in Enugu and Ogun states.
The operations led to the rescue of kidnap victims, the arrest of suspects, and the recovery of weapons and cash.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, operatives neutralised one kidnap suspect and recovered an AK‑47 rifle during an operation in Enugu.
A notorious kidnap kingpin, identified as Aliyu Adamu, was arrested alongside two female accomplices who were caught while sharing a ₦10 million ransom.
The suspects had initially demanded ₦50 million from their victim, who police say was their own kinsman.
