Remi Tinubu Visits Benue, Pledges ₦1bn Donation for Displaced Families

First Lady Remi Tinubu on Tuesday, July 29, announced a ₦1 billion donation to support families displaced by suspected herders’ attack on the Yelewata community in Benue State.

The donation, she said, will be made through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), her pet project, to help survivors of the deadly attack in June, where over 100 lives were lost.

Speaking during a condolence visit at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, the First Lady said the money would help victims rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

“On behalf of the governing council of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI will be making a donation of ₦1 billion to help displaced families get back on their feet, return to earning a living, and have a better life.

“This is in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative as captured in our motto: Towards a Better Life for Families,” Remi Tinubu stated.

The visit was part of efforts by the First Lady to show solidarity with the people of Benue and to highlight her initiative’s commitment to helping families recover from tragedies.
