The CAF (Confederation of African Football) has revealed on Friday that its President, Ahmad Ahmad, has contracted the coronavirus.

Ahmad immediately went into isolation for the next 14 days, 1stnewsonline.com gathered.

“Upon his arrival in Cairo on 28 October, President Ahmad, who had flu-like symptoms, submitted himself to the health protocol. Results today show he is positive to Covid-19,” reads the release.

In all likelihood, the Malagasy contracted the virus in Casablanca during his stay for the final of the Confederation Cup. Furthermore, the CAF calls on those who have contacted the President in recent days to take the necessary precautions.

The news comes out a few days after that of FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, contracted the dreaded Covid-19 virus.
