Lagos Seals Dowen College Over Alleged Environmental Law Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed Dowen College in Lekki Phase 1 over alleged violations of environmental sanitation regulations.

According to a statement from the state’s environmental authorities, waste traced to the school was found to have been improperly disposed of, prompting swift enforcement action. The Corps Marshall of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps was directed to proceed with sealing the premises.

Officials described the incident as a clear disregard for environmental laws, warning that the government would not hesitate to take firm measures against any institution or organisation found breaching waste management rules.

“Such disregard for environmental laws is unacceptable. Lagos must remain clean, safe and healthy for all residents, and enforcement will continue without compromise,” the statement read.
