The Kaduna State Police Command has imposed a restriction on movement in selected local government areas ahead of Saturday’s bye-elections.
Police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Mansir Hassan announced the measure in a statement issued on Friday, August 15, in Kaduna.
He said the restriction, which will begin at midnight, will affect Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru Local Government Areas.

According to Hassan, the move is part of security arrangements aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the polls.
“Members of the public are strongly advised to comply with this directive, as only personnel on essential duties and those with valid election duties will be exempted.
“The command urges the residents to conduct themselves peacefully and cooperate with the security agencies to ensure hitch-free elections,” Hassan said.
