Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has brought back former Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, into the State Executive Council.
His reinstatement comes just days after Oyebanji dissolved the cabinet, a move that affected most commissioners and special advisers.
Confirmation of Olatunbosun’s return was contained in a letter dated August, the 18th of August, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. (Mrs) Habaibat Adubiaro. The letter stated that Olatunbosun “is to continue to function as Commissioner for Information, with the recall taking effect immediately.”
The recall follows the cabinet shake-up of the 11th of August, 2025, when the Governor directed affected appointees to hand over to permanent secretaries or senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.

While the council was dissolved, six commissioners were retained, among them those in charge of Finance, Works, and Human Capital Development, to sustain key areas of government operations.
During the announcement of the dissolution, Governor Oyebanji explained that the move was intended to bring “fresh energy” into governance while staying focused on his shared prosperity agenda.
