Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their interest in Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman following the collapse of his proposed transfer to Inter Milan earlier this summer.
According to a report by The Independent, the North London side are monitoring several attacking targets, with Lookman high on their shortlist as they aim to strengthen their frontline.
Inter Milan came close to signing the 27-year-old but failed to meet Atalanta’s €50m asking price.
Club director Giuseppe Marotta later admitted that Atalanta were justified in holding firm over their prized asset.
Lookman, who was visibly keen on the move, trained separately from the first-team for a period and even went absent without leave for two weeks, scrubbing his social media of Atalanta-related posts.
However, he has since returned to full involvement with Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad and was warmly received by supporters during a recent training session in Zingonia.
For Spurs, the Nigerian represents a proven option with both European pedigree and Premier League experience.

Since leaving RB Leipzig for Italy, Lookman has become one of Serie A’s standout forwards, scoring 52 goals in 118 games and playing a pivotal role in Atalanta’s maiden European trophy triumph. Last season alone, he notched 20 goals and seven assists.
His versatility—capable of operating through the middle or from the flanks—makes him a valuable prospect for Tottenham, who are keen to maintain their strong start to the season under manager Thomas Frank.
Having previously featured for Leicester City, Fulham, and Everton, Lookman is no stranger to English football and could slot seamlessly back into the Premier League.
With Atalanta tying him down until June 2027, Tottenham would need to meet the Bergamo club’s steep valuation to have any chance of securing his services—something Inter Milan could not achieve.
Whether Spurs are prepared to go the distance for Lookman remains to be seen, but the forward’s profile and form suggest he could be the missing piece in their push for top-four qualification and silverware this season.
