Gunmen have abducted a staff member of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Mr. Ayodeji Akesinro, from his residence in Upenme community, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Confirming the development on Friday, the State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, said security operatives, in collaboration with other agencies, had begun a manhunt for the assailants to ensure Akesinro’s safe release.
The CP added that the police, in a joint collaborative effort with other sister security agencies, would ensure Akesinro was rescued unhurt while perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.
