Wolves close in on Arokodare after agreeing £23.4m deal with Genk

Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare is on the verge of joining Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers following an agreement with Belgian club KRC Genk.

Reports from Sky Sports reveal that Wolves will pay an initial £22.5 million for the 24-year-old striker, with a further £900,000 in performance-related add-ons bringing the deal to £23.4 million.

Arokodare is expected to arrive in England this weekend to undergo medicals at the Molineux Stadium, paving the way for the official announcement of his transfer.

The Nigerian hitman enjoyed a standout campaign in Belgium last season, scoring 23 goals and providing seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

His exploits earned him the prestigious Ebony Boot, awarded annually to the best African player in the Belgian league.

Born in Festac Town, Lagos, Arokodare made his Super Eagles debut in 2025 when he replaced Victor Osimhen during a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

He has since gone on to feature against Zimbabwe and netted his first international goal in June in a 1-1 friendly draw with Russia.

If the move goes through, Arokodare will become the latest Nigerian to grace the Premier League, adding depth and firepower to Gary O’Neil’s Wolves squad ahead of the new season.
