Protesters gathered outside ABC’s New York studios on Friday, September 19, calling for the reinstatement of comedian and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, whose show was recently suspended indefinitely by the network.
The demonstration comes in response to ABC’s decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the host delivered a controversial monologue referencing the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The move has sparked national debate about freedom of expression in media and corporate responsibility.
Reports indicate that about 100 demonstrators assembled outside ABC Disney facilities in Manhattan, holding signs that read “Bring Back Kimmel” and “Free Speech Matters.”
Some were affiliated with writers’ unions, including members of the Writers Guild of America, which has been vocal in condemning the suspension.
Similar protests also took place outside Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, California, where hundreds of people rallied against what they described as an “un-American” act of censorship.

Organizers said the demonstrations were intended to pressure Disney and ABC executives to reinstate the late-night program.
The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! has drawn sharp political reactions.
Hollywood figures, free-speech advocates, and journalists criticised the action as a dangerous precedent for editorial independence.
As of Friday, ABC has not issued a timeline for Kimmel’s return to television. The network has maintained that the show remains suspended “indefinitely,” pending internal review.
