Global music streaming giant Spotify has unveiled its 2025 Top Afrobeats Artists list, placing Burna Boy at the pinnacle of the genre’s global dominance. The announcement, made on September 29, highlights Burna Boy’s unmatched streaming numbers through September, cementing his influence on the international stage.
Following closely behind are Rema, Wizkid, Asake, and Ayra Starr — a lineup that reflects Afrobeats’ vibrant mix of established icons and rising stars. Collectively, these artists racked up billions of streams across albums, remixes, and worldwide tours, further expanding the genre’s reach.
Spotify revealed that Afrobeats streaming has grown by 30% globally in 2025, now accounting for 5% of its total non-English listens. This surge reflects not only the genre’s widespread popularity but also its growing foothold in key international markets such as the United States, Brazil, and Europe.
