Kompany Signs New Deal to Stay At Bayern Until 2029

Bayern Munich have confirmed that manager Vincent Kompany has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2029.

The announcement came on Tuesday, marking another vote of confidence in the Belgian tactician, who guided the Bavarians back to Bundesliga glory in his first season in charge.

Kompany, who joined Bayern in the summer of 2024 after a spell at Burnley, was initially viewed as a surprising choice for the German giants.

However, the 39-year-old quickly silenced doubters by reclaiming the league title from Bayer Leverkusen and instilling a renewed sense of dominance in the squad.

This season, the former Manchester City captain has continued his impressive run, steering Bayern to a perfect start with 11 wins from 11 matches.

The team currently sits comfortably at the top of both the Bundesliga and Champions League standings.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Kompany expressed his satisfaction with life in Munich.

“It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer and that I know the club well,” he said. “It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started on a wonderful journey. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!”

Kompany’s new deal is seen as a statement of long-term intent from Bayern’s hierarchy, who appear convinced that the Belgian has ushered in a new era of stability and ambition at the Allianz Arena.
