The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has plunged into turmoil following the expulsion of its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Mustapha, and eight senior officials accused of misconduct, insubordination, and attempts to overthrow the state leadership.
The decision came after an emergency meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) in Kaduna on Wednesday, October 22, where party leaders described the move as necessary to restore discipline and order within the party.
Others affected include the State Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa; Vice Chairman (Zone 1), Sulaiman Abdullahi; Treasurer, Gambo Sani; Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa; Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities, Saura Muhammed; Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and one Mansur Gaga.
According to the SEC, the expelled members were found guilty of conducting unauthorised meetings, forging party documents, and extorting money from members, all of which violated the ADC constitution and undermined its unity.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, State Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, said the party acted in accordance with its constitution.
He maintained that the ADC leadership remained committed to discipline, transparency, and the rule of law.
“No individual, no matter his position, is above the law of the party,” Ambut said, adding that Mustapha was specifically found guilty of abuse of office, impersonation, and acts capable of destabilising the party in the North-West.
To ensure continuity, the SEC appointed Deputy Publicity Secretary, Alex Tagwai, as Acting Publicity Secretary pending further reorganisation.
Ambut called for calm among members, warning that any further breach of discipline would attract strict sanctions.
He reaffirmed that the ADC in Kaduna remained united and focused on strengthening its political base ahead of future elections.
