Ned Nwoko Denies Viral Rumour of Taking Another Wife

Nigerian senator and businessman, Ned Nwoko, has dismissed reports circulating online alleging that he is planning to take another wife following the emergence of a viral video showing him with a young woman.

In a statement shared via his official Instagram handle on Saturday, Nwoko clarified that the woman in question visited him as part of a delegation under the Peace Ambassadors Initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule.

According to him, the video and photographs taken during the visit are now being misrepresented on social media to suggest a personal relationship, which he described as “false, mischievous, and malicious.”

“A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative… and it is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to affiliate me with her,” Nwoko stated. “It is unfortunate what social media has become—a space where moments are easily twisted for clout and misinformation.”

He further explained that it is customary for him to take pictures with guests during official or courtesy visits, emphasizing that such gestures should not be misconstrued as evidence of personal relationships.

“Let me state clearly and unequivocally that the news being propagated around her visit is entirely false. I do not have any form of personal or private connection with her,” he said.

Nwoko cautioned individuals, groups, and media outlets against spreading the fabricated story, warning that continued dissemination could attract legal consequences under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

He reaffirmed his commitment to taking appropriate legal action against those responsible for spreading defamatory content online.
