The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially issued certificates of return to Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, recognising them as the duly elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Anambra State.
The presentation took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at INEC’s headquarters in Awka.
Kenneth Ikeagu, the National Commissioner supervising the Anambra governorship election, handed over the certificates, following the declaration of Soludo and Ibezim as winners of the poll held on Saturday, 8 November 2025.
Ikeagu said the certificates formalise their victory and confer the legal mandate to govern the state.

Governor Soludo thanked the electorate for their support and pledged to lead with transparency and accountability.
Deputy Governor Ibezim also promised to assist in implementing the administration’s development agenda.
The presentation of the certificates marks the conclusion of the electoral process and clears the way for the incoming administration to assume office.
