The Super Eagles have called off their training boycott and are set to return to the pitch on Wednesday evening, barely 24 hours before their decisive 2026 World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.
The team’s media department confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the impasse between the players, officials, and relevant football authorities has been resolved.
The players are expected to train later today at 5:00 p.m. in Rabat, Morocco — the same venue where they will face Gabon on Thursday in a must-win encounter.

The standoff, which had sparked concerns among fans and stakeholders, saw the team skip training sessions due to long-standing issues over unpaid bonuses and allowances. Since their arrival in Rabat, the Super Eagles had only trained once — on Monday, November 10 — with just 16 players participating.
With the matter now settled, the focus shifts back to the pitch as Nigeria aims to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
