The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, has intensified security surveillance across boarding schools in the state, following renewed concerns over kidnappings and security breaches in parts of the country.
Speaking in Akure on Tuesday while parading 16 suspects arrested for various offences, the Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, said the enhanced patrols were part of the state’s proactive steps to safeguard students and restore public confidence.
Adeleye disclosed that security teams had, within the last week, visited several schools—especially those located in border communities and on the outskirts of major towns—where full surveillance has now been mounted.

“In the last one week, we’ve visited so many of the schools and mounted surveillance on all those with boarding facilities,” he said. “Particularly the schools in the border towns of the state. We have equally stepped up our 24-hour Ember Month patrol, which has been strengthened at our borders to ensure protection.”
The commander noted that the ongoing border operation, Operation Le Won Jade, launched on November 6, had significantly helped in flushing out miscreants, bandits, and suspected kidnappers hiding within forested areas of the state.
Adeleye added that Amotekun’s regular 24-hour patrols within urban centers were also yielding results, leading to the arrest of 34 suspects in the last week, with 16 of them paraded on Tuesday.
He assured residents that security agencies remain fully committed to maintaining peace and safeguarding lives and property across Ondo State.
“I want to reassure residents that security agencies are working tirelessly to ensure that the safety of lives and property in Ondo State is guaranteed,” he said.
