Nigeria has been unanimously adopted as the official headquarters of the African Petroleum Regulators Forum (AFRIPERF), with Engineer Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), elected as chairman.

The announcement was made at AFRIPERF’s inaugural executive committee meeting, held virtually on December 2, 2025.
