The All Progressives Congress has shifted the dates of its long-awaited National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings. The gatherings, earlier slated for December 15–16, will now hold on December 18–19.
The adjustment was confirmed in a notice titled “Change of Meeting Dates”, issued by National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, and posted on his X handle on Sunday, December 7.
According to the notice, the National Caucus will convene on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting will follow on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
Both meetings are scheduled for the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The document also reminded members that the invitations were issued in line with Articles 12.3 and 13.3 of the APC Constitution, which set out the composition of the party’s top decision-making bodies.

The National Caucus includes high-ranking leaders such as the President, the Vice President, former APC presidents and vice presidents, serving and past governors, and zonal representatives.
The notice further listed the NEC’s membership, stating it includes “the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, Deputy National Secretary, National Legal Adviser, Deputy Legal Adviser, National Treasurer, and Deputy Treasurer.”
It added that other officers such as the National Organising Secretary, National Financial Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Women and Youth Leaders, deputy officers, state chairmen, zonal representatives, and convention-elected members are also part of the NEC.
The shift comes only days after the party first announced the December 15–16 dates, which were expected to be its most significant meetings in more than a year. No reason was provided for the rescheduling.
“All Members are by this invitation to TAKE NOTICE of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the notice stated.
