Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday visited ex-President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja, marking their first meeting since Jonathan returned from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau.
Atiku shared photos of the meeting on his verified social media accounts on Sunday, describing it as a “pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.”
Jonathan, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015, lost his re-election bid to Muhammadu Buhari.

The visit comes shortly after Atiku officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing the PDP’s departure from the principles of its founding fathers.
Observers note that Atiku may emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
