The Police Service Commission, in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, has opened applications for the recruitment of 50,000 new constables, following President Bola Tinubu’s approval to bolster national security.
The large-scale recruitment drive is part of the President’s security emergency directive issued on November 26, 2025, which ordered law enforcement agencies to expand their manpower and strengthen community policing amid rising insecurity across the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the PSC Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Kalu, the Commission confirmed that the recruitment portal will be open to qualified Nigerians from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
According to the statement, the fresh intake aims to “enhance internal security, reinforce grassroots policing, and expand the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.”
