England’s Hannah Hampton and Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma have been named the Best FIFA Women’s and Men’s Goalkeepers, respectively, the football governing body announced on Tuesday.
Hampton, 25, played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s domestic treble last season and helped England defend their Euro 2025 title. She started every match of the tournament, including the final against Spain, which England won on penalties. She also featured in every game of Chelsea’s unbeaten Women’s Super League campaign, earning the Golden Glove with 13 clean sheets.
With her award, Hampton acknowledged the contributions of England manager Sarina Wiegman, Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor, and the fans, saying, “We hear you cheering every single game loud and proud, and it helps push us on to go and get the win for you all.”
Donnarumma, who played a key role in Paris Saint-Germain’s first UEFA Champions League triumph before joining Manchester City this summer, received the men’s Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in September.

Other notable awardees included Lizbeth Ovalle, who won the Marta Award for the best goal in women’s football for her scorpion kick for Tigres against Guadalajara in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil. Ovalle now plays for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The men’s Puskas Award for the best goal went to Santiago Montiel of Independiente, who scored an overhead kick from outside the box against Independiente Rivadavia in the Argentine Primera Division in May.
Hampton’s and Donnarumma’s recognitions highlight their consistent performances at both club and international levels over the past year, cementing their status among the world’s top goalkeepers.
