US Embassy Honors Top Nigerian Content Creators

In a vibrant celebration of cross-cultural creativity, the United States Embassy in Nigeria has officially recognized five standout content creators.

The honors were presented following the conclusion of the “Made in America, Loved in Nigeria” video competition.

The award ceremony, hosted by the U.S. Consulate on Wednesday, the 17th of December, 2025, served as a platform to highlight the burgeoning creative economy and the robust ties connecting the two nations.

The competition spotlighted the diverse talent emerging from different regions of Nigeria. The winners announced at the ceremony included:Grand Prize Winner: Rasheedat Fagbenle, Finalists: Tito Abumere, Janefrancis Odinkemma Ugwu (Abuja), Cyril Usheshe (Cross River State), and Timileyin Durotoye (Osun ).

Lee McManis, the Country Public Diplomacy Counsellor in the U.S. Embassy, addressed the audience to explain the strategic vision behind the initiative.

He noted that the contest aims to foster deeper cooperation and celebrated the presence of over 100 major American firms currently contributing to the Nigerian economy.

Underscoring the significance of the initiative, McManis stated: “This contest is more than a showcase of American products and brands. It is a celebration of the enduring partnership between the United States and Nigeria, a partnership built on commerce, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to progress,” McManis said.

For the grand prize winner, 21-year-old Rasheedat Fagbenle, the recognition is a pivotal moment in her burgeoning career. Currently a final-year Political Science student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Fagbenle shared her thoughts on the achievement:

Reacting to her win, the grand prize recipient, Rasheedat Fagbenle, expressed excitement and gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a major encouragement for her creative journey.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the United States’ commitment to economic partnership with Nigeria, highlighting a future built on mutual benefits and shared innovation.
