In a firm declaration regarding U.S. foreign policy, Congressman Riley Moore announced that the Trump administration is committed to halting the persecution of religious groups in Nigeria.
Speaking via his official X account on Friday, the 26th of December 2025, Moore emphasized that the United States is prepared to escalate its involvement if the current wave of violence does not subside.
Moore framed recent military actions as a preliminary response to the long-standing instability in the region. He characterized the latest strike as a foundational effort to mitigate the humanitarian crisis and restore safety for all citizens, regardless of their background.
The lawmaker underscored the President’s personal commitment to the issue, stating: “President Trump has been clear that the killing of Christians in Nigeria must end.”
The Congressman further noted that the recent operation was conducted in tandem with local authorities, signaling a shift toward more aggressive counter-terrorism support. He warned that this action is merely the beginning of a broader strategy to ensure regional stability.

“Tonight’s strike in coordination with the Nigerian government is just the first step to ending the slaughter of Christians and the security crisis affecting all Nigerians.”
The Congressman concluded by noting that while the U.S. currently stands in support of Nigeria’s internal efforts to combat extremism, the administration remains vigilant and ready to implement further measures if the security situation fails to show significant improvement.
