Prophet Genesis Advises Christians Not To Risk Welfare

The presiding pastor of Genesis Global Church, Prophet Israel Ogundipe, has advised Christians not to make the biblical “first fruit” offering at the expense of their own or their family’s well-being.

In a recent interview, Ogundipe explained that it was important to address concerns he had received regarding the financial pressure some members experience when making first fruit contributions, especially at the start of the year.

“Because it is the first month of the year, many people usually bring this offering, and a lot of them are worried about how they would cope financially if they pay,” he said.

He shared the story of a church member who had N500,000 but also needed to assist his mother with rent.

“He wanted to use the money to pay first fruit because he had heard that those who don’t pay would not receive God’s blessings. When it got to my table, I told him that God would not want his mum to live on the street or be chased out of her house, and that God does not want His children to be in discomfort,” the cleric said.

Ogundipe noted that to address issues like this, Genesis Global Church holds a Monthly Cross Over Service at the beginning of each month.

He further announced that the church would host a session titled “Podcast Sunday” this Sunday, the 18th of January, 2026, which will focus on first fruit offerings and other related topics.

He invited all members who are uncertain about these matters to attend, learn biblical principles, and ask questions to gain a clearer understanding of God’s expectations.
