Africa Magic has opened submissions for the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), inviting filmmakers and television content creators across Africa to submit eligible works for consideration.
The submission window opened on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and will close on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Eligible films and television productions must have been publicly screened or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
The awards, organised by Africa Magic in partnership with MultiChoice, recognise excellence in African film and television, celebrating creativity, storytelling, and technical achievement across the continent.
The 2026 edition will feature 32 award categories, comprising 18 jury-decided awards, 11 audience-voted categories, two Lifetime Achievement Awards, and a Trailblazer Award, reflecting the depth and diversity of African screen content.

In a notable development, Africa Magic has expanded the Indigenous Language categories to include Best Indigenous Language North Africa and Best Indigenous Language Central Africa, reinforcing its commitment to promoting cultural heritage, linguistic diversity, and regional representation in African storytelling.
Filmmakers and producers are required to submit entries through the official AMVCA portal at www.africamagic.tv/amvca, where full eligibility criteria and submission guidelines are provided.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to hold in Lagos in May 2026, with further details to be announced by the organisers.
