The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested six suspected notorious armed robbers linked to a series of violent crimes across the Federal Capital Territory.
The arrests were made on Saturday, January 17, 2026, following a discreet, intelligence-led operation carried out under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye.
Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) tracked the suspects to a hideout in Dakwa, Dei-Dei area of the FCT, where they were apprehended while allegedly planning another robbery.
Items recovered during the operation include one black toy gun, local charms, long and short knives, and 42 bags of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis-sativa.
The suspects identified by police are Suleiman Magaji (25), Abdullahi Abubakar (20), Abubakar Shitu ‘M’ (25), Sani Ibrahim (17), Rabiu Dahiru (19), and Ahmen Abdullahi (26).

Preliminary investigations have linked the group to several armed robbery incidents within the territory, including a recent attack at Crystal Lounge, Wuse II, which occurred earlier in January 2026, where a hotel guest was reportedly robbed of gold jewellery valued at about ₦15 million.
Police said the stolen items were later sold for ₦1.2 million.
CP Dantawaye commended the officers involved for their professionalism and urged residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts by providing timely information to the police.
The suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
