Sanwo-Olu Hosts AIM Congress Chief, Seeks Investments

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, the 19th of January, 2026, received the Director-General of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress, Mr Walid Farghal, at Lagos House, Marina, in a meeting aimed at strengthening investment cooperation.

The governor described the discussion as fruitful, explaining that it centred on critical sectors identified by the state as priorities for attracting increased foreign investment.

According to him, areas such as technology, infrastructure development and the creative industry present significant opportunities for investments capable of driving sustainable growth and economic impact in Lagos.

“Our primary goal remains to ensure Lagos provides a conducive environment for high-impact investments,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“We are committed to positioning the state to benefit more effectively from global capital flows.”

The engagement underscored the Lagos State Government’s sustained push to expand global partnerships and reinforce the state’s reputation as a leading destination for investment within Africa.

The AIM Congress, held annually in Dubai, serves as a prominent international forum that convenes governments, investors and business leaders to promote cross-border investment collaborations.

Expressing optimism about the outcome of the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu said it was “always encouraging to engage with partners who recognise the same energy and promise in Lagos that we witness every day.”
