The Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has rejected allegations by the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, linking the movement and Iran to terrorism and instability in Nigeria and West Africa.
In a statement on Friday signed by its President, Ammar Muhammad, the forum described the claims as false, provocative, and intended to demonise the movement while silencing voices supporting oppressed people globally.
The forum stressed that in over five decades of activism in Nigeria, no court has ever convicted the movement or its members of terrorism or violent activity.
It also criticised Israel for making the allegations while facing international scrutiny over its military actions in Gaza, where tens of thousands of civilians have reportedly been killed.
The statement emphasised that the Islamic Movement’s advocacy for Palestinians and other oppressed communities is rooted in moral conviction, humanitarian concern, and universal principles of justice.

It urged Nigerians to disregard the allegations and remain vigilant against attempts to sow division and hostility.
Meanwhile, security was heightened across parts of Kaduna on Friday following rumours of a planned demonstration by Muslim worshippers after Juma’at prayers.
Police deployed heavily armed officers at key locations in the metropolis, including Station Roundabout, Stadium Roundabout, NEPA Roundabout, and the Singer area.
Commercial activities continued, though fewer vehicles were on the roads as some transport operators stayed away amid fears of unrest.
