Zulum Mourns Ngoshe Attack Victims, Vows Rescue Efforts

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has expressed grief over the killing of residents during an attack on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area, while assuring that steps are being taken to secure the freedom of those abducted.

The governor made this known on Friday, the 6th of March, 2026, during a visit to displaced people from Ngoshe who are now sheltering in Pulka community, where he met with families affected by the violence.

Reports earlier indicated that gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members invaded Ngoshe, leaving several residents dead and taking many others away.

Zulum told the displaced residents that troops were carrying out operations in the area and within sections of the Sambisa Forest in search of the attackers and to facilitate the rescue of those kidnapped.

He explained that security agencies had stepped up activities aimed at dislodging insurgents believed to be operating in the region.

During the visit, he also assessed houses that were destroyed in a separate attack that occurred in Konduga town.
