Lagos Opens Applications For Graduate Internship Placement Programme

The Lagos State Government has announced the commencement of registration for its Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP), an initiative designed to help fresh graduates gain practical work experience.

The announcement was made on Friday, March 13, through the state government’s official X handle.

According to the government, the programme is fully funded and will provide successful applicants with a stipend, professional mentorship and training in soft skills and business etiquette to improve their employability.

“The Graduate Internship Placement Programme is designed to equip fresh graduates with practical experience, ongoing mentorship, and the skills that employers value,” the statement read.

The programme is open to new applicants only, with the registration window expected to close on April 10, 2026.

Participants will receive structured guidance throughout the internship period, enabling them to strengthen both their technical knowledge and professional capabilities in preparation for the labour market.

The state government explained that the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to address graduate unemployment while developing a workforce that is better prepared for professional environments.

“We want graduates to leave this program with more than just a certificate. They should gain practical knowledge, improved soft skills, and experience to succeed in any professional environment,” the post added.

Interested graduates have been encouraged to apply before the deadline in order to benefit from the mentorship, career support and hands-on training provided under the programme.
