Police Arrest Suspect After Fatal Stabbing Of Friend In Owo

Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Johnson Daniel, in connection with the alleged stabbing death of his friend, Ariyo Amos Timilehin, in Owo.

According to police authorities, the incident occurred following a disagreement between the two young men, who were known to be close associates and were frequently seen together in their neighbourhood before the tragic event.

The command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Saturday in Akure.

“The command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the alleged murder of Ariyo Amos Timilehin following a violent altercation in Owo on March 6, 2026,” Jimoh said.

He explained that the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead on arrival.

Jimoh added that detectives visited the scene of the incident and recovered a knife suspected to have been used in the attack. The suspect has since been taken into custody.

According to the police, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

The police command expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and urged residents to resolve disagreements peacefully rather than resorting to violence.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
