Zenith Bank Opens Manchester Branch To Boost Africa–UK Trade

Zenith Bank Plc announced on Monday, March 16, 2026 that it will open a new branch in Manchester, United Kingdom, as part of its efforts to deepen financial links between Africa and international markets.

The branch is set to be officially inaugurated on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 and is expected to host government officials, regulators, investors, clients and business leaders, marking a significant step in the bank’s global expansion strategy.

The Manchester office will broaden Zenith Bank’s presence in the UK and serve as a key hub for supporting companies engaged in cross-border trade, investment and financial services across Africa, Europe and the UK.

Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adaora Umeoji, said the expansion demonstrates the bank’s commitment to providing tailored international banking solutions for businesses operating in multiple markets.

She highlighted Manchester as a vibrant commercial centre with strong activity in manufacturing, logistics, technology and professional services making it an ideal location for the bank’s growth plans.

The new branch will offer corporate banking, trade finance, treasury services and financial advisory support to businesses seeking to expand their operations internationally.

Founded in 1990 by Jim Ovia, Zenith Bank has grown into one of Africa’s largest financial institutions, with a wide branch network across Nigeria and a presence in major global financial centres.

The Manchester office will collaborate closely with the bank’s existing UK operations to facilitate trade, attract investment and strengthen financial cooperation between Africa and the UK.
