Veteran Nollywood comedian Abiodun Ayoyinka has formally reintroduced himself to the public under a new stage name, Bondu Alaska, marking a fresh chapter in his career following a dispute over the use of the iconic “Papa Ajasco” character.
The actor made the announcement in a video posted on his Instagram page on Saturday, March 21, 2026, where he addressed Nigerians directly, expressing gratitude for the support he has received in recent days.
“I am a new person now, and I promise I will not let you down,” he declared, signaling his commitment to building a brand beyond the character that brought him nationwide recognition.
Ayoyinka’s transition comes amid tensions with Wale Adenuga, founder of Wale Adenuga Productions, the company behind the long-running “Papa Ajasco” franchise.

The disagreement centers on the rights to the character, which the actor cannot independently use outside official productions.
Earlier this week, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Adenuga responded to Ayoyinka’s claims of financial difficulty and industry neglect, describing them as misleading.
He outlined that their working relationship was strictly contractual and emphasised that the intellectual property rights to “Papa Ajasco” remain with his production company.
In his announcement, Ayoyinka also updated his social media handle to @bondualaska_, inviting fans and corporate brands to engage with him under his new professional identity.
The rebranding represents a significant pivot for the veteran entertainer as he seeks to redefine his career independently of the role that defined much of his public image.
