The Israel Defense Forces has announced fresh airstrikes targeting key military infrastructure in Tehran, marking a significant escalation in ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Israeli military said its air force, acting on intelligence, struck two naval cruise missile production facilities linked to Iran’s Ministry of Defence.
The sites, according to the military, were involved in the development and manufacture of long-range naval cruise missiles.
“These missiles are capable of rapidly destroying targets at sea and on land,” the statement said, underscoring what it described as the strategic importance of the facilities.
The strikes, carried out in recent days, are part of a broader effort to weaken Iran’s military production capabilities.

Israeli officials said the operation represents “another step in deepening the damage” to the country’s defence infrastructure.
The development adds to a series of recent military actions. Just last week, the Israeli military reported that its fighter jets had targeted several Iranian naval vessels in the Caspian Sea, including ships reportedly equipped with anti-submarine missile systems.
While Iranian authorities have yet to publicly respond in detail to the latest strikes, the escalation is likely to heighten concerns across the region and beyond, particularly given the potential implications for global security and energy supply routes.
For civilians in affected areas, the continued exchange of military actions raises fears of prolonged instability, with many watching closely for signs of de-escalation amid growing international concern.
Analysts warn that while such targeted strikes aim to degrade military capabilities, they also risk further entrenching hostilities in an already volatile geopolitical landscape.
