Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed all political aides in his administration with immediate effect, in a sweeping move aimed at restructuring governance and boosting service delivery.
The decision, announced on Tuesday, affects all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants serving under the current administration across the state.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the mass disengagement is part of a broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and reposition the government for better performance.
Adeniyan explained that the move also precedes a planned expansion of the governor’s political structure, with about 1,000 new aides expected to be appointed in the coming weeks.
He noted that the incoming appointees would be drawn from all 203 wards across the 18 local government areas of the state, a step designed to strengthen grassroots coordination and broaden representation within the administration.

“The governor has relieved all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants of their duties with immediate effect,” the statement said. “He appreciates their contributions to the development of the state and wishes them success in their future endeavours.”
The development comes amid earlier resignations by some political aides, reportedly linked to political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Observers say the move signals a significant reset within the Ondo State Government as Aiyedatiwa seeks to consolidate his leadership and inject fresh energy into his administration.
