Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, operating under the mandate of Operation WUTAN DAJI, have recorded significant successes in ongoing security operations in Plateau State.

During the operation, troops killed suspected terrorists, dismantling criminal hideouts, and arrested a suspected kidnapper.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace, Capt. Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, on Monday.

Oteh stated that the operations, conducted on April 4, 2026, focused on areas within Wase Local Government Area.

Acting in collaboration with local vigilantes, troops targeted insurgent routes around Babangida, Adua, and Bokayi villages in the Dutsen Zaki forest.

It was gathered that security forces encountered armed terrorists along the Babangida–Adua road, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.

According to the statement, two suspected terrorists were killed, while others fled into the forest with gunshot wounds.

A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition, including a locally fabricated firearm, over 100 rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition, additional rounds of special ammunition, and a cutlass.

In a separate operation on April 5, troops deployed in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area intercepted four suspected terrorists in the Namu District following credible intelligence on their movements.

The suspects were found with 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Meanwhile, in Shendam Local Government Area, troops working with residents apprehended a suspected kidnapper in Gidan Mangoro village.

The suspect is believed to be connected to a kidnapping incident that occurred on April 3 and is currently in custody for further investigation.

The military stated that the operations highlight their continued resolve to combat insecurity in the region.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies as clearance operations continue across the state.
