The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has concluded arrangements to host the fourth edition of its Quarterly Book Reading Programme, featuring leadership expert and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dakuku Peterside.
According to a statement issued by the Board, the event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa.
The programme, which began in August 2014, is part of NCDMB’s ongoing efforts to promote literacy, critical thinking, and knowledge exchange by engaging leading Nigerian authors and thought leaders. It has evolved into a platform for intellectual discourse on key thematic issues, while reinforcing the Board’s commitment to human capital development beyond the oil and gas sector.
This edition will spotlight Peterside’s book, Leading in a Storm, which examines practical leadership strategies in periods of uncertainty, crisis, and institutional change. The session will feature a book reading, an interactive question-and-answer segment, and a book signing, offering participants direct engagement with the author.
Peterside, widely recognised for his work in crisis leadership, public sector reform, and organisational transformation, brings over 24 years of leadership experience across both public and private sectors. His book, Leading in a Storm, was named Book of the Year 2025 by THISDAY newspaper, further underscoring its relevance in contemporary leadership discourse.
Beyond his professional career, Peterside serves as an adjunct lecturer at leading business schools, mentoring emerging leaders and contributing to leadership development through research, writing, and advisory roles.
Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager, Corporate Communications at NCDMB, Obinna Ezeobi, said the programme is designed to encourage learning, innovation, and value-driven leadership.
He noted that the Board considers such engagements vital in building a knowledge-based society and equipping individuals with the capacity to respond effectively to evolving economic and institutional challenges.

Ezeobi added that the upcoming edition is expected to attract a broad audience, including professionals from the oil and gas industry, academia, government institutions, students, media, and the general public.
“This programme will provide an opportunity for meaningful dialogue on leadership, resilience, and transformation, while advancing the Board’s broader objective of fostering intellectual growth and national development,” he said.
Previous editions of the programme have featured notable authors, including former The PUNCH editor, Dayo Oketola, author of The Catalyst: Nigerian Tech Evolution Through a Journalist’s Lens, and Senior Vice Chairman/Editor-in-Chief of Leadership Newspaper, Azu Ishiekwene, who inaugurated the series in August 2024 with his book Writing for Media and Monetising It.
Also featured was the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom, Bubaraye Dakolo, who presented his book The Pirates of the Gulf.
The NCDMB reiterated its commitment to sustaining the initiative as part of its broader mandate to promote capacity building and national development.
