Candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are expected to begin receiving their results before midnight today, Friday, April 17, 2026, as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) commences a phased nationwide release of scores.
The board’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, confirmed in a statement issued on Friday, that candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, April 16, 2026, will start receiving their results once processing is completed.
JAMB said the release will be carried out in batches in line with its established post-examination procedures, which include automated marking, system validation, and security screening before results are made public.

The board noted that the staggered process is designed to ensure accuracy and protect the integrity of the examination, adding that results are typically released within 24 to 72 hours after each sitting, subject to verification checks.
Candidates are expected to access their scores via SMS notifications and the official JAMB result portal as the 2026 UTME continues across Computer-Based Test centres nationwide.
JAMB added that the current release applies to candidates who sat for the first day of the examination, with subsequent results to follow as other sessions are concluded and processed.
