Tinubu Holds Strategic Talks With APC Governors In Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

The high-level meeting, which was initially slated for 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber, eventually commenced around 5 p.m. after it was relocated to the Conference Room within the President’s Office.

Among the governors in attendance are Babagana Zulum, Hope Uzodimma, Inuwa Yahaya, Hyacinth Alia, Biodun Oyebanji, Peter Mbah, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, alongside several others.

Some states are being represented by their deputy governors.

As of the time of filing this report, the specific agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed.

However, the development follows closely on the heels of an emergency meeting between President Tinubu and the Senate leadership held on Wednesday.

During that earlier engagement, Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele revealed that “far-reaching decisions” were reached on matters described as urgent to national interest, stemming from resolutions adopted during a closed executive session of the Senate.

Further details regarding the outcome of the ongoing meeting are expected to emerge in due course.
