Oluremi Tinubu Commissions Kano Road Project

Oluremi Tinubu on Thursday commissioned the newly completed Lodge Road located in the Government Reserved Area of Nasarawa Local Government Area and also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Sarkin Yaki Road in Sabon Gari, within Fagge Local Government Area.

The First Lady was in Kano State for the inauguration of the Energise Commercialisation Now initiative. She attended the road project events alongside Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, his wife, and other senior government officials and dignitaries.

Details of the visit were contained in a statement issued Friday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, who noted that the infrastructure projects are aimed at strengthening development and boosting economic activity across the state.

Addressing attendees at the ceremony, the First Lady stressed the critical role of road networks in advancing development.

“Quality roads remain essential for easier movement of people and goods, improved security access, and stronger state and national economies,” she said.

She further urged continued cooperation between federal, state and local authorities to expand the reach of impactful development projects to more communities.

In his remarks, Governor Yusuf described the visit as a reflection of the collaboration needed to drive progress, adding that his administration is dedicated to backing initiatives that foster growth and modernisation.

He stated that the projects would enhance mobility, stimulate business activities and support ongoing urban renewal efforts within the Kano metropolis.

The event drew the presence of top government functionaries, traditional rulers and political stakeholders, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, members of the National Assembly, and representatives of governors from the North-West region.
