Nigerdock has celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of operations and contributions to Nigeria’s maritime and industrial sectors.
The milestone highlights the company’s evolution from a ship repair and fabrication outfit into a regional hub for port operations, logistics support, and free zone services.
Speaking on the anniversary, Chief Executive Officer, Maher Jarmakani, described the journey as one defined by resilience, continuous investment, and a commitment to excellence.
“Our journey has been one of resilience, constant reinvestment, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” he said, noting that the company has consistently adapted to industry demands while delivering major projects across sectors.
Founded in 1986, Nigerdock has played a significant role in Nigeria’s industrialisation drive, providing services in port infrastructure development, terminal operations, ship repair, real estate, and free zone solutions.

A major turning point came in 2003 when the company was acquired by the Jagal Group, triggering an expansion that repositioned it as a key player in regional maritime logistics.
The 40th anniversary also coincides with the commencement of activities at Snake Island Port, a strategic development undertaken in partnership with the Federal Government to boost trade and port capacity.
Over the years, the company has trained thousands of Nigerians in specialised technical skills, reinforcing its role in developing local capacity while maintaining global operational standards.
Nigerdock operates an integrated port and free zone in Lagos, serving as a gateway for international trade into Africa and supporting Nigeria’s broader economic growth agenda.
