APC Updates 2027 Election Timetable, Announces Payment Accounts

The All Progressives Congress has updated its internal timetable for the 2027 general elections, introducing changes to key activities such as screening, primaries, and appeals, while also providing details of official bank accounts for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

The announcement was made in a statement issued Monday from the party’s National Secretariat at Buhari House in Abuja.

The notice was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and separately affirmed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

The party stated, “In accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases its revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the Elections.”

Under the revised schedule, the sale of forms will take place between April 25 and May 2, 2026, while aspirants are expected to submit completed forms no later than May 4, 2026.

Screening exercises are slated for May 6 to May 9, 2026, and will be conducted in phases for aspirants contesting State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential positions.

The party added, “Screening appeals: State House of Assembly and House of Representatives — Tuesday, 12th to Wednesday, 13th May, 2026.”

Primary elections are scheduled to begin on May 15, 2026, starting with the House of Representatives, followed sequentially by Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential contests, with all primaries expected to conclude on May 23, 2026.

The APC also outlined the fees for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for various offices.

It stated,“House of Assembly — N1,000,000 (Expression of Interest) and N5,000,000 (Nomination).

House of Representatives — N1,000,000 and N9,000,000. Senate — N3,000,000 and N17,000,000. Governorship — N10,000,000 and N40,000,000. Presidential — N30,000,000 and N70,000,000.

“Female aspirants, youth and physically challenged aspirants are to pay for the Expression of Interest and 50 per cent of the prescribed Nomination fees for each position.”

In addition, the party instructed that all payments must be made into its approved bank accounts, stating,”All payments should be made in full directly into the designated bank account of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as follows: Union Bank Plc — 0239691733; UBA Plc — 1025098328; Zenith Bank Plc — 1014008105.”

The revised timetable comes amid heightened preparations by political parties for the 2027 general elections, as they align with constitutional requirements, the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The APC noted that the adjustments are intended to streamline its internal processes and ensure effective coordination of its primaries nationwide.
