Herdsman Assaults Amotekun Officer During Boundary Dispute, Sparks Outrage Online

A suspected Fulani herdsman has reportedly assaulted an operative of the Amotekun Corps, leaving the officer with serious facial injuries following a confrontation over boundary restrictions.

The incident, which surfaced in a video circulating on Facebook, shows the herdsman attempting to move his cattle across a restricted boundary when he was stopped by Amotekun personnel.

In the video, one of the officers tried to prevent the herdsman from proceeding, repeatedly telling people around “Ko le lo,” a Yoruba phrase meaning “he cannot go.”

Tensions quickly escalated during the encounter, with the herdsman allegedly striking the officer in the face with a stick.

The impact reportedly caused severe injury, leaving the officer’s mouth disfigured.

In the video, other security operatives can be seen attempting to restrain the suspect while managing the growing unrest at the scene.
