IBEDC Confirms Abduction Of Two Staff In Ogun

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has confirmed the abduction of two of its staff members in the Ogun region, raising fresh concerns over the safety of workers in the area.

In a statement issued on Monday and made available in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the company disclosed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

IBEDC management expressed deep concern over the development, noting that the welfare and safe return of the affected employees remain a top priority.

“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time,” the statement read.

The company further revealed that it is working closely with relevant security agencies to secure the release of the abducted staff, while also maintaining active communication with their families and offering necessary support.

The incident adds to the growing security challenges in parts of the country, particularly affecting workers carrying out essential services.
