Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido is set to receive recognition at the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, according to organisers of the event.
The announcement was made on Thursday via an Instagram post, where the organisers described the singer as a “global force in Afrobeats” whose influence has significantly contributed to the global rise of African music.
“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy,” the post read.
The organisers also highlighted the award-winning artiste’s contributions beyond music, praising his impact in philanthropy and entrepreneurship.
“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.
“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the statement added.

“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the statement added.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 1, 2026, in Atlanta, along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive, outside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. American rapper Ludacris is also expected to be honoured at the event.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, is one of Africa’s most commercially successful music artists, known for multiple international collaborations and hit projects.
Since breaking into the mainstream with his 2011 single Dami Duro, he has released several globally recognised songs including Fall, If, Unavailable, and Feel.
He has collaborated with international stars such as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, and Summer Walker, and in recent years has earned multiple Grammy nominations while performing on major global stages.
