Kaduna State pilgrims currently performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have been urged to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, particularly for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Nigeria.
The appeal was made by the leader of the Kaduna State Hajj Delegation Committee, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, during a visit by the delegation to the pilgrims’ residence along Ibrahim Khalil Road in the Misfala district of Makkah on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa, Mustapha also expressed support for the re-election of both leaders, saying their continued leadership would enable them to sustain ongoing developmental and people-oriented policies at both federal and state levels.
The delegation leader, who is a former Head of Service in Kaduna State, praised Governor Uba Sani’s leadership style, noting that the governor has demonstrated remarkable wisdom and administrative maturity despite his relatively young age.
He stressed that both President Tinubu and Governor Sani should be remembered in the pilgrims’ supplications throughout the Hajj exercise.
“Both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani deserve a second term to continue their people-oriented leadership at the national and state levels respectively,” Mustapha said.
He further advised the pilgrims to remain law-abiding during their stay in Saudi Arabia by complying strictly with Islamic teachings and the laws guiding pilgrims in the host country.
The five-member delegation accompanying the pilgrims includes the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Professor Bello Ayuba; the District Head of Rigasa and Dangaladiman Zazzau, Arc Mohammed Aminu Idris; and prominent Islamic clerics, Dr Imam Tukur Adam Almanar and Malam Abdullahi Rabiu Ishaq.
Speaking earlier during the engagement, Sheikh Haliru Maraya, a member of the Special Hajj Committee of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, educated the pilgrims on the significance and rituals associated with Muna, one of the key sites for Hajj rites.
He explained that Muna is located approximately eight kilometres from Makkah and covers an estimated 20 square kilometres, with over 100 tents designated for pilgrims.
Maraya disclosed that Governor Uba Sani had approved the deployment of 85 officials, including Islamic scholars and welfare officers, to guide Kaduna pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise and ensure that they perform the rites correctly.
“The Governor is not only concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of Kaduna pilgrims, he is equally concerned that they achieve Hajj Mabroor,” Maraya stated.
He added that Islamic clerics had been assigned to each tent housing Kaduna pilgrims to lead prayers, provide spiritual guidance, and assist worshippers throughout their stay in Muna.
According to him, Kaduna State remains the only subnational government in Nigeria to introduce such an extensive spiritual support structure for its pilgrims.
“This is unprecedented and Kaduna State is the only subnational that has taken this extraordinary step to ensure that its pilgrims perform their Hajj as prescribed by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Governor deserves commendation for that and may Allah reward him abundantly,” Maraya said.
The development comes as thousands of Nigerian pilgrims continue preparations for the major Hajj rites expected to commence in the coming days across the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
